The Thüringische Krebsgesellschaft e.V. ("TKG", "we", "us/our/our") is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. With this privacy notice, we would like to provide a general overview of the basis on which and the purposes for which we process personal data that we collect from you or that you provide to us. In addition, we would like to inform you about your data protection rights, including your right to object to individual processing operations carried out by TKG.

Supplementary privacy notices apply to certain categories of data processing. You will find some linked below.

When TKG collects the data, we also provide information at the relevant points to the extent that this appears necessary, e.g. in the case of certain forms.

2. What is personal data?

Personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. An identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an online identifier, or by reference to specific characteristics.

3. What data do we process?

We process the following types of personal data:

  • Contact information: such as name, address, phone, e-mail and other similar information;
  • Contact preferences: how you would like us to reach you and for what purposes;
  • Payment data: such as your bank account number, address and address;
  • Device Data: such as information about the devices you use to visit the TKG website, including information about your operating system, browser (for visits to our website), and the approximate geographic location of the server over which your IP address passes;
  • Usage data: Details of your visit to the TKG website on a pseudonymous basis, such as the time of your visit, your connection time and your usage from the TKG website (e.g. items you click on and request).

4. What do we process your data for (purposes of processing) and on what legal basis?

We collect, use and store your personal data:

4.1 insofar as the legitimate interests of TKG require it and no interests of data subjects worthy of protection are overridden and you have not objected to the use of the data

  • to provide and secure the TKG website and related services for you;
  • to monitor the success of our offerings, also to make the effectiveness of our marketing efforts measurable and to be able to improve them;
  • to improve the TKG website or our consulting services and in particular to convert personal data into anonymous data;
  • for direct marketing, we will provide you with information about our consulting services (direct marketing) that you request from us or that we believe may interest you, to the extent permitted by law;
  • to handle inquiries and complaints;
  • for internal management purposes;
  • To protect our legitimate business interests and legal rights. This includes, but is not limited to, use in connection with compliance, regulatory, audit and legal claims (including disclosure of such information in connection with legal proceedings or litigation).

Your personal data is passed on to companies that provide services on behalf of TKG. These are companies in the categories IT services (website hosting and analytics services), logistics, printing services.

4.2.2 Transfers to third parties

In addition to service providers acting on our behalf, we will disclose your personal information to third parties when required to do so by law, when necessary to perform a contract, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of TKG, our donors, members, clients, prospective clients, or others.

5. How long do we store your data?

TKG processes and stores personal data of data subjects only for as long as the purpose pursued requires or is required by law. For example, retention periods under commercial and tax law may prevent deletion. The retention and documentation periods specified there are up to ten years. If the purpose of storage no longer applies or if a legally required storage period expires, the personal data is routinely restricted or deleted in accordance with the legal requirements, unless it is used as evidence.

6. Your rights as a data subject

Every person affected by our personal data processing has the right to information according to Article 15 of the GDPR, the right to rectification according to Article 16 of the GDPR, the right to erasure according to Article 17 of the GDPR, the right to restriction of processing according to Article 18 of the GDPR, the right to object from Article 21 of the GDPR and the right to data portability from Article 20 of the GDPR. With regard to the right to information and the right to erasure, the restrictions pursuant to Sections 34 and 35 BDSG apply. In addition, there is a right of appeal to a data protection supervisory authority pursuant to Article 77 DSGVO in conjunction with Section 19 BDSG.

6.1 Information about your right to object according to Article 21 DSGVO

6.1.1 Right to object on a case-by-case basis

You have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to the processing of personal data relating to you which is carried out on the basis of Article 6(1)(E) or (f) DSGVO (data processing on the basis of a legal obligation or balancing of interests); this also applies, where applicable, to profiling based on this provision within the meaning of Article 4(4) DSGVO.

We also process your personal data in individual cases for the purpose of direct advertising. You also have the right to object at any time to the processing of personal data concerning you for the purpose of such advertising; this also applies to profiling, insofar as it is associated with such direct advertising.
If you object, we will no longer process your personal data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves the purpose of asserting, exercising or defending legal claims.  

If you object to processing for the purposes of direct marketing, we will no longer process your personal data for these purposes.

6.1.2 Revocation of consent given

You may revoke any consent given to us at any time. The revocation of consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out on the basis of the consent until the revocation.

7. Data protection notice for users of our TKG website

With this data protection notice, we inform users of our website about the possible processing of their personal data.

7.1 Data that TKG generally processes with the use of the TKG website

7.1.1 Which data do we process for which purposes on which legal basis?

We collect data on every access to the server on which this platform service is located (so-called server log files) on the basis of our legitimate interests in eliminating malfunctions, ensuring system security and detecting and tracking unauthorized access or attempted access within the meaning of Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f. DSGVO data about each access to the server on which this platform service is located (so-called server log files). The access data includes the address of the accessed website, file, date and time of access, amount of data transferred, notification of successful access, as well as device data such as browser type and version, the user's operating system, referrer URL (the previously visited page), IP address and the requesting provider.

Log file information is stored for security reasons (e.g. to clarify acts of abuse or fraud) for a maximum of 90 days and then deleted. Data whose further storage is required for evidentiary purposes is excluded from deletion until the final clarification of the respective incident.

In order to deliver the content of our website correctly, to optimize the presentation of this content and to ensure the permanent functionality of our website, device data in particular is processed automatically on the server side.

7.1.2 Recipients of this data

To provide our website, we use a web hosting service provider on whose servers all website data is processed and who is bound by contract accordingly.

7.2 General information about cookies

When you visit our website, it may retrieve and store information from your browser mostly in the form of cookies, JavaScript or pixels (collectively hereinafter "cookies"). This may be information about you, your settings or your device. This allows us to distinguish your web browser from those of other users of our website, learn more about your product interests, and provide features.
